Atrocities upon the innocent
have been intensified.
Openly, shamelessly,
unblushingly, unconcernedly, nonchalantly.
When the things of the
greatest value are no longer held as such
And in their place,
mere expediencies are shoddily erected
Toward what, gauge thee,
are we moving?
By what gauge do we
now measure?
This last outrage of
“good-taste” is so gross a violation
of what is technically
called "keeping the peace,"
as to excite in me extreme
disgust.
Why all of this ink
lavished on unprincipled pettifoggers
Who merely succeeded
to safely reach their unwarranted harbors.
And what foul things
are we now harboring in our bewildered silence?
and people, much more
knowledgeable that me, were making jokes,
Fierce clashes between
the Inwardly hidden, outwardly manifest,
In confused questions
which dare not
to penetrate to what
was once called ‘Truth’
In a separate occurrence,
the search operation
continues according to the latest details.
The situation has become
much more critical along the line of control.
troops are being shifted
to the front bunkers
in the darkness of night
through the use of helicopters.
While on this subject,
let us stop to discuss for a moment the nice matter of their size and shape.
Please sit down because
the secret I’m about to reveal
to you will make you
light headed –
you must determine for
yourselves,
but I must enter my
protest against the total extinction of young men’s dreams who barely make
a sound.
And a plea comes, “It
is finished, let’s not bog ourselves down in messy details and unpleasantness.
Let’s move forward for the sake of unity.”
The silent command behind
an uneasy smile: JUST BE NICE DAMN IT!
We don’t want to engage
the generals. Let the dogs sleep for now…
